PrestaShop worked, but module conflicts and manual updates cost you time and money. We migrate everything — including complex combinations — to Shopify.
Why migrate
PrestaShop is popular in Romania and Europe, but constant maintenance — conflicting modules, manual updates, unstable hosting — consumes resources that should go toward growth.
With every PrestaShop update, one or more modules break. Shopify Apps follow strict compatibility standards and are certified by Shopify.
Hosting ($30-200/mo) + premium modules (€20-300 each) + developer for emergencies = unpredictable costs. Shopify: one monthly subscription that includes everything.
Every PrestaShop update is a risk — you might break the theme, modules or critical functionality. On Shopify you do no updates — the platform updates itself.
The PrestaShop combinations system is hard to manage at scale. Shopify variants are simple, clear and scale to thousands of SKUs without issues.
PrestaShop reporting is basic. Shopify has fully integrated analytics and connects natively with Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel and TikTok Ads.
PrestaShop requires additional modules for an optimized checkout. Shopify Checkout is tested on hundreds of millions of transactions and converts better by default.

Migration Process
Every migration follows a tested process designed so you don't lose a single order, customer or product.
We analyze categories, product combinations, active modules and theme customizations. We identify Shopify equivalents for each functionality.
We export the catalog with all combinations (colors, sizes, materials, etc.) via PrestaShop API or WebServices. We validate each SKU before import.
We import products as Shopify variants, maintaining stock, prices and images for each combination. Collections are recreated from PrestaShop categories.
We map PrestaShop URLs (format /category/id-product-name.html) to new Shopify URLs with 301 redirect for every page.
We exhaustively test checkout, payments (Stripe, PayPal, Netopia), automated emails and all order flows. DNS changed only after full approval.
What We Transfer
Titles, descriptions, prices, stock, images and variants (colors, sizes, custom attributes) — all faithfully transferred.
Order history imported for reporting continuity and access to historical data at any time.
Customer accounts, shipping addresses and order history per customer — fully migrated to Shopify Customers.
Categories become Shopify Collections, with the same hierarchy and correct products in each section.
301 redirect for every URL, meta titles and descriptions transferred, XML sitemap updated — Google Search Console connected.
We set up Shopify Payments or your preferred gateway (Stripe, PayPal, Netopia, etc.) and test every method before launch.

"I was skeptical about migrating — I was afraid of losing SEO rankings. Two months after launch, traffic increased by 35% and all data is intact."
"We no longer waste time with updates, security issues or hosting. Since moving to Shopify, we focus 100% on sales."
FAQ
PrestaShop combinations (e.g., Color: Red + Size: XL) become Shopify variants. Each combination with its own SKU, price, stock and image is faithfully mapped. Shopify supports up to 100 variants per product with unlimited options.
We analyze each active module and identify the Shopify App Store equivalent. Most common functionalities (cart recovery, reviews, loyalty points, etc.) have direct and often better equivalents in Shopify.
It depends on catalog size. A store with 200-500 products migrates in 3-5 business days. Stores with 1,000+ products and many customers may need 1-2 weeks. We set a clear schedule before starting.
No, if migration is done correctly. We set up 301 redirects for every PrestaShop URL, transfer meta title and description, update the XML sitemap and reconnect Google Search Console. A slight 2-4 week fluctuation is normal.
No. PrestaShop stays live throughout the process. We build and test Shopify in parallel. We switch DNS only when you're 100% satisfied with the new store — the switch takes a few minutes.
