Gomag has things Shopify does not ship with: native integrations with Romanian couriers and payment processors, Romanian-language support and a low entry price. Shopify wins elsewhere — and by the time you get there it helps to know what to expect.
Product limits per plan
Gomag sets a product limit on each plan: 200 on Basic, 2,000 on Advanced and 10,000 on Elite (per Gomag's own pages, October 2026). Beyond that you move to a higher plan. Shopify has no product cap on any plan.
Third-party apps
Gomag ships with its own apps (50+ on Basic, 80+ on Elite). Shopify has thousands of apps from independent vendors, usually several for the same job.
Selling in more countries
Gomag mainly serves Romania, Moldova and the Balkans. Shopify Markets gives you local pricing, currencies and localised checkout for 150+ countries.

Gomag has native integrations with Romanian couriers and payment processors. On Shopify you reconnect them through dedicated apps (SmartBill, Oblio, FGO; FAN Courier, Sameday, Cargus, DPD, GLS) — I configure and test them.

When Shopify is worth it
Gomag is cheaper to start (from €7/month). Shopify is worth it when you need more products, sales in more countries or features Gomag does not offer natively.

Data extraction
We extract products, categories, customers and orders. If your Gomag plan does not give you a simple way to export, we work out in the audit how to get the data out — you should not have to upgrade just to leave.
Shopify Import
Products arrive with variants, images and stock, categories become Shopify Collections with the same hierarchy, and customers and order history import in full.
Romanian Integrations
We reconnect the invoicing and couriers you were using. Shopify has dedicated apps for SmartBill, Oblio and FGO, and for FAN Courier, Sameday, Cargus, DPD and GLS.
SEO and Launch
We map every Gomag URL to its new Shopify equivalent with a 301 redirect, test checkout and payments, then move DNS only once everything is verified.

How much does a Gomag to Shopify migration cost?
Migrating products only starts at €300 + VAT. Migrating the whole site (not just the products) starts at €1,500 + VAT. The final price depends on the number of products, the complexity of the site and the amount of blog content. Once I have seen the store, you get a free quote within 24 hours.
My Gomag plan does not allow export. What now?
We look at that in the free audit: we work out what you can export on your plan and the best way to get the rest out. You should not have to upgrade Gomag just to leave Gomag.
What happens to invoicing and couriers?
They get reconnected on Shopify. There are dedicated apps for SmartBill, Oblio and FGO, and for FAN Courier, Sameday, Cargus, DPD and GLS. We configure and test them with real orders before launch.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Not if the migration is done properly. Every Gomag URL gets a 301 redirect to its Shopify equivalent, and meta titles and descriptions transfer across.
How long does it take?
A standard store under 1,000 products migrates in 5–10 business days. Large catalogues or ones with many integrations can run to 2–3 weeks. Your old store stays live until the final day.
